Terms of Service.

The agreement between you and us about using Langu. It is short on purpose, and written to be read rather than clicked past.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Langu (“Langu”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Langu application, website, or any related service (together, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Your account

Your first launch signs you in anonymously, so you can try the Service without an account at all. Creating one keeps your phrases, songs and progress across devices. Keep your sign in details to yourself, because anything done from your account is treated as done by you.

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. It removes everything attached to it, and it cannot be undone.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Langu Pro is one tier, offered monthly or yearly at the prices shown in the app. It is bought through the App Store, so Apple takes the payment, manages the renewal and issues any refund under its own policy. We never see your card.

Where a free trial is offered it is Apple's introductory offer, one per subscription group, and it converts to a paid term unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Cancel or change the plan in your App Store settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the current term running to its end.

4. Acceptable use

The Service is for practising a language. Please do not use it to break the law, to harass anybody, to get around the limits we have set, to resell access, or to pull our content out in bulk by automated means. We can suspend an account that does, and we will say why.

5. Third party content

Songs play in YouTube's own embedded player. We fetch no audio and store none. What you are watching is YouTube, under YouTube's Terms of Service, and the recording belongs to whoever made it.

Lyric timings come from LRCLIB, a community database contributed by people who timed the lines themselves. The words belong to their rights holders.

A recording you bring stays yours and stays on your device. We claim no rights over it.

6. Accuracy and limitations

Translation and pronunciation are produced by a model, and they are offered on a best efforts basis. They are checked, and for most language pairs the respelling is computed from a phonetic table rather than guessed at, but the Service is not a translator, an interpreter or professional advice, and you should not rely on it where being wrong would matter.

7. Service availability

We try to keep the Service working, and we will not always succeed. Parts of it depend on services we do not run, and those have limits and outages of their own. We may change, add or remove features. If we remove something you paid for, tell us and we will sort it out.

8. Termination

You can stop using the Service whenever you like, and delete your account from inside it. We may end this agreement if you break these Terms, or if we stop offering the Service, in which case we will give you reasonable notice and refund any unused paid term.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing in them takes away rights that the consumer law where you live gives you.

10. Changes to these Terms

If these Terms change we will date the change at the top of this page, and if the change is a meaningful one we will say so inside the app rather than hope that you read the page again.
